Samuel Krause, grandson of Debbie Krause and James Summers, St. Joe Road residents, pulled up piles of thin leaf pondweed growing in the swim area of Aqua Park. The pondweed is more than three feet tall in the deeper sections of the swim area. Other swimmers have appeared less enthusiastic about the presence of the weeds. Samuel and his parents Bryan and Nancy Krause visited from Illinois.

Crane Backhoe and Trucking started work this week building a ramp to the locker room in the basement of the Heyburn Elementary School. The ramp, expected to cost between $10,000 and $12,000, serves as a fire egress for the building and is being added to comply with state regulations.Â

Kootenai Class of 1969 held its 50th reunion Aug. 3 at the Country Barn Bed and Breakfast. There were 14 of the original 20 graduates in attendance. They included (front, from left) Debbie Boe Simpson, Janeen Bailey Ryen, Sue Rainio Kraack, Robin Schauls Bruneel, Marion Fischer Fuller and Renee Jones Blads. (back) Jon Cornelius, Dale Alexander, Steve Chatfield, David Young, Gary Edwards, Marvin Sandow, Rich Lund and Steve Rasor. Three of their classmates have died, Dave Barnett, Nick Scaley and Bobby Timken.Â

Budget that is being reserved for the renovation of Valley Vista Care is really huge and that can clearly meet all kind of renovation needs of this care center.
