Before we dive into the latest news from the fashion world a couple items surfaced last week that are worth a mention.
Admittedly, our notes on fashion are more interesting because the other news has to do with politics. But since you won’t read the other stuff elsewhere we feel rather special bringing it to you here.
The first item relates to the newest magical-spending-boondoggle-that-will-fix-everything Congress produced this week. Democrats claim they can kill inflation by spending another $739 billion we don’t have.
Hey, nobody said they were rational.
But one tiny item hidden away within the 725 pages nobody read is a little snippet about taking $288 billion used to buy prescriptions for Medicare recipients and spending the money on windmills instead.
This confirms what you always suspected.
Leftists running the Democrat Party today think their contrived emergency about weather – they guess temperatures will rise three degrees over the next 100 years – is of critical importance.
More important, certainly, than your health.
But you won’t read that anywhere.
The second item worth noting relates to the energy policy under Joe Biden. You are reminded every day of Joe Biden’s incompetence when it comes to energy when you buy fuel for your vehicle.
But we ain’t seen nothing yet.
Filling your gas tank is cheap compared to heating your home. The cost of energy under Joe Biden will cripple family budgets across the country this winter – with the added bonus of massive inflation because every product you buy relies on fossil fuels before it gets to your home.
But Joe Biden and the Democrats who contrived this disaster they call an “energy policy” are even making it worse. You will remember that Joe Biden drained our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, a process that included massive oil sales to China.
What you might not know is that Joe Biden plans to refill the reserves. His administration plans to buy oil at $85 per barrel to replenish the supply.
Two years ago, Democrats blocked the plan by President Trump to buy oil at $20 a barrel to entirely fill the reserve. They called it a “bailout for big oil.”
So Democrats agree paying $20 a barrel is bad, but spending $85 a barrel is good.
Hey, nobody said they were rational.
And speaking of rational, who wears those heels with that dress?
Well is turns out Sam Brinton chose the light-blue heels to wear with his dark-blue dress, cut at the mid-thigh. Sam, who marches to his own drum, ignored completely the criticism for his choice.
In fact, although not widely reported, Richard was somewhat jealous of Sam’s look. Richard was forced to wear a below-the-knee dress with nylons – the old kind of nylons that your grandmother once wore.
The fact is Richard is much older than Sam and frankly, does not have the legs for a shorter dress.
The point is a lot of people noticed the fashion choice of the two men dressed as women that Joe Biden sent as his representatives to the French Ambassador’s celebration for Bastille Day.
Including the Russians.
A member of their Foreign Affairs delegation asked bluntly if “these are the values that you are ready to instill in your children?”
Another Russian diplomat taunted that the world noticed saying, “I don’t think we even need any long-term strategies to counter your malicious role in the world – you are doing the right thing yourselves!”
Seriously. Joe Biden did that. He looked around his administration and picked the two best candidates to represent the United States – and they both happened to be men who dress as women.
Now we don’t care if Sam and Richard want to dress up like women. We doubt you do either. If a man wants to pretend to be a woman, and doesn’t don’t hurt anyone, that’s fine. Or visa-versa. Nobody cares.
But is that who we want representing the United States on the world stage?
Sure, we get it. The people running Joe Biden want to show how hip they really are – and they realize they must bow to the leftists who run the Democrat Party.
But it’s one thing to hire a couple bureaucrats in dresses among the thousands and thousands of other bureaucrats. But to parade them in front of the world, with our enemies watching, could be dangerous.
Ask yourself, who takes a country seriously that allows a diplomat to wear THOSE heels with THAT dress?
