Maddie Johnson and Landon Warren were the St. Maries wrestling team’s top performers at the Clearwater Classic last weekend.
Maddie took first place in the 165-pound girls bracket, pinning each of her three opponents in under two minutes.
Landon took second in the 285-pound bracket, pinning his way to the final where he lost to the 5A classifications statewide third-ranked wrestler in the final on a three-minute, 15-second pin.
Other Lumberjack wrestlers earning wins at the tournament included Zach David (2-2), Brock Anderson (2-2), Jerrett Brebner (2-2), Trey Gibson (3-2), Scott Sotin (2-2), Jackson Nantell (2-2) and Eavan Johnson (2-2).
The Lumberjacks hosted their final home event Jan. 18 in a dual with Kellogg.
St. Maries lost the dual 27-50, getting individual wins from Brock Anderson, Jerrett Brebner, Trey Gibson, Jackson Nantell and Landon Warren.
Up Next: St. Maries competes at the Clearwater Valley Duals Friday and Saturday.
