A third of the athletes representing St. Maries High School at the 2A State track and field championships in Middleton came home with medals following last week’s annual meet.
Jacklin Linnemeyer took second place in discus for the second consecutive season, recording a distance of 112’6”, two feet better than her 2022 state performance.
Alexzander Lambson was fifth in discus, recording a personal-best of 148-08 in the process.
Scott Sotin was St. Maries’ third medalist, taking sixth in shot put with his toss of 43-02.75.
“We had a great performance at the state level. Almost every athlete set a personal record in one of their events. My coaches and I are very proud of all of our athletes for constantly improving throughout the season,” Coach Aaron Cloud said. “We are very excited for next year as we will have a talented group returning.”
